A portrait series by friend and photographer David Kimelman, taken recently over a weekend in London. David was travelling around Europe visiting friends for his up-close day in the life project. http://davidkimelman.com/2012/05/serge-seidlitz/
Having just finished reading Tolstoys classic, in anticipation of the forthcoming movie and in the spirit of my latest of obsession with all things Russian, this re-imagining of the Anna Karenina cover is inspired by the frescos of the interior of St. Basils cathedral in Moscow.

LIMITED EDITION OF ONE! The bookshelf chair is a collaboration between illustrator Serge Seidlitz & upholsterer Lizzie Summerskill. The Edwardian wingback chair, has been stripped, repaired and remastered. The essence of the project was to produce a beautifully crafted piece of furniture that will stand the test of time and will offer the maximum comfort but within a modern context, therefore fusing the values of traditional method with high end modern living. The chair has been carefully made, using traditional techniques and with the employment of traditional and modern materials, and is finished with black painted legs and black acrylic decorative nails around the legs. The fabric design was tailored to fit this chair exclusively so that all bookshelves would appear on the inside and outside back. The end result is a beautiful antique wingback chair that will last for years to come and be the perfect place for any booklover to sit back and enjoy their favourite past time.
